Managing Director Switzerland (m/f)


We are looking for a Zurich based Managing Director Switzerland (m/f) who is further growing our market position in Switzerland and leading a dedicated team of driven sales and account management staff, tasked with winning and expanding our B2B business across the country.

We offer consulting for end-to-end hotel management solutions to over 3,000 corporate businesses globally. These services include best in class professional hotel program procurement, automated rate audits, payment solutions and automated invoice processing as well as online group bookings. We focus to deploy state of the art solutions which integrate innovative technology approaches such as AI, predictive analysis or block chain. Among our customers are global corporations such as Google, Siemens, Alibaba, but also regional champions such as Schweizer Eidgenossen, LaFarge Holcim or Swisscom.

To fuel our national and international growth we are looking for entrepreneurial minds, who are passionate and result-driven, have a strong team-spirit and will take on the challenge to pioneer the ever changing travel industry. Do you also want to make it happen at HRS? 

 The challenge you are up for

  • Take accountability and leadership to run the most innovative and most value driven Hotel Solutions business in Switzerland
  • Build up HRS presence in Switzerland by expanding a local office and a local sales team and deploying HRS Enterprise best in class solutions
  • Be responsible for business management by defining a local corporate and hotel sales strategy for HRS, pushing sales activities and subsequent reporting to ensure mid- and long term business growth
  • Build strong HRS knowledge to form a local sales USP with respect to the HRS’ product portfolio, the benefits for the customer and key sales arguments
  • Leverage your knowledge of the Switzerland B2B business travel market to deliver on strategic opportunities and build long-lasting relationships with key industry influencers and customer decision makers
  • Demonstrate the ability to lead sales by example, coach team members on their focus areas and approach to manage client issues
  • Manage recruiting, onboarding, personnel development, and performance management of team members
  • Assist the team in the acquisition of new clients and ensure rollout of new customers
  • Constantly improve internal processes and develop professional and interpersonal competencies in your team to achieve a top position in the Switzerland B2B travel industry
  • Ensure compliance with the agreed objectives, implementation of the defined market strategy and the optimization of the margins achieved in the managed markets

The commitment you bring

  • A Bachelor degree and/or above
  • Experienced leader who successfully managed sales or consulting teams within the B2B travel industry for at least 5-7 years in a management role
  • Experience in dealing with online reservation systems and enthusiasm for online sales / eCommerce
  • Good understanding of the B2B travel industry (trends, strategy, competitors, pricing, TMCs/OBEs, GDS)
  • Excellent knowledge of Switzerland corporate travel markets
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence ambition of clients as well as motivation of team members
  • High customer and results orientation coupled with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to build a sustainable relationship network
  • Very strong analytics and good organizational skills
  • Enthusiasm to build this new business and high level of commitment
  • A structured, independent and goal oriented leadership style with profitability focus
  • Fluency in Swiss German and English, spoken and written; French is a plus
