Innovative, progressive and creative – the HRS Innovation Hub in Berlin

10.02.2017 from Olimpia Best

New and innovative inventions don’t grow on trees – they have to be nurtured. Particularly in a fast-moving industry like e-commerce, innovative and progressive ideas are essential if a company is to keep pace with the market. Hence the creation of the HRS Innovation Hub in Berlin, as an environment in which creativity can flourish.

Headed up by Martin Biermann, Vice President Product Development HRS Group, the HRS Innovation Hub was founded by creative minds from different backgrounds, as a means of helping, in no small part, to shape the travel and e-commerce industry through the development of innovative ideas.

It is the mission of the interdisciplinary team to become ‘The Best Platform in Business Travel’. The Hub is where it all begins for innovative platform technologies, pioneering marketing strategies and customised features that optimise the travel experience.

Activities include several annual meetups, which bring together founders and investors for debate, discussion and networking in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s not for nothing that the German capital is regarded as a stronghold for e-commerce. This is where partnerships and investments with innovative start-ups are formed, and an ecosystem of intensive exchange between the e-commerce industry and the HRS Group is created. The meetups have already seen forward-looking start-ups among the participants – from the camping sector through to conichi – which are revolutionising the hotel industry with beacon technology. With a programme of workshops and speeches, plus the opportunity for close contact with start-ups, the result is a forum that both supports and promotes innovative thinking. The Innovation Hub also welcomes up-and-coming talent – we invite students from various universities and business schools to join us for workshops and think tanks.

The HRS Innovation Hub currently has an international, multicultural team of over 30 employees, and there is a real family atmosphere to the place. We are looking for techies to expand the team in the fields of product innovation, marketing innovation and data innovation.
